Chants Return Home to Take on Arkansas State

CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team returns to the CCU Soccer Stadium to take on Arkansas State on Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. ET.
 
Chant Talk
  • The Chants are 3-6-1, 0-2-1 Sun Belt on the year.
  • Coastal places second in the SBC with 53 saves just behind Louisiana which has 56.
  • All six of CCU's losses have been shutouts and all three of Coastal's wins have been shutouts.
  • Sophomore Maggie Mace has been a fundamental player on the CCU defense, playing the full 90 minutes in nine out of the 10 matches she has played in while helping Coastal keep three clean sheets.
 
Last Time Out
  • The Chants were downed by the Georgia State Panthers 3-0 while on the road in Atlanta, Ga.
  • CCU was able to hold off the Panthers in the first half to keep the score at 0-0, but the GSU offense exploded in the second frame with the Sun Belt leading goal scorer Aaliyah Faddoul bagging two goals and an assist while Bree Barley netted the other goal.
  • Coastal took four shots in the match and Emily Petring took CCU's lone shot on goal in the 74th minute.

Scouting the Opponent
  • Arkansas State has a 2-5-2 record on the season.
  • The Red Wolves have suffered three losses in their last four matches with the other fixture resulting in a tie.
  • A-State will be looking to capture its first Sun Belt Conference win as they sit on a 0-2-1 record.
