CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team is set to return to the HTC Center to host the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and Troy Trojans on Wednesday and Saturday, Jan. 3 and 6, as the games mark the beginning of a four-game homestand for the Chanticleers. The two games are slated to start at 6 p.m. ET and 1 p.m. ET, respectively.

The Chants were unable to complete the comeback and fell 81-73 on the road versus Arkansas State.

Alancia Ramsey,
Makaila Cange, and
Anaya Barney led Coastal with 17, 16, 11, and 10 points, respectively. Cange recorded her fourth double-double as a Chanticleer with 11 rebounds, while Ramsey finished with seven boards.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND SOUTHERN MISS
Coastal Carolina and the Eagles will be meeting for just the second time. The Chants trail the all-time series 1-0 with USM winning 80-59 in Hattiesburg, Miss., in the last meeting.

Coastal Carolina and Troy will be meeting for the 16th time dating back to February 2017, the Chanticleers first season in the Sun Belt Conference. The Trojans lead the all-time series at 11-4 with the Chanticleers picking up a 99-97 road win in Troy, Ala., in the last meeting.
ABOUT COASTAL
Coastal Carolina enters the matchup 6-8 overall and 0-1 in Sun Belt action on the year. The Chants are averaging 65.9 points per game while shooting 39.6 percent from the field and 26.2 percent from three-point range. Defensively, Coastal has allowed 73.4 points per game, while opponents have a 41.3 shooting percentage from the floor and 32.5 percentage from behind the three-point arc. The Chanticleers have been outrebounded by their opponents 551-547.
Coastal is paced by Richardson and Cange who average 15.9 and 12.3 points per game, respectively, while Freeman (11.4) is averaging right at 11 points per contest. Ramsey has averaged 8.0 points per contest and leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per game. Cange has grabbed 101 boards for a 7.2 rebounds per game average.
ABOUT SOUTHERN MISS
Southern Miss enters the week 7-4 overall and 0-1 SBC record and is currently on a four-game skid. As a team, the Golden Eagles are averaging 69.8 points per contest while shooting 44.5 percent from the floor and 33.6 percent from three-point range. Defensively, USM has allowed 60.6 points per contest and its opponents to shoot 36.2 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from behind the arch.
Domonique Davis is the team's leading scorer with 21.7 points per game, while Melyia Grayson (11.2) is scoring in double digits with Noelani Cornfield (7.8), Jacorriah Bracey (7.7), Brikayla Gray (7.5), and Morgan Sieper (7.3) is just over seven points per contest. The Golden Eagles' top rebounder is Grayson with 7.1 boards per game.
ABOUT TROY
The Trojans enter the week at 3-8 on the year and 0-1 Sun Belt record. As a team, Troy is averaging 76.2 points per contest while shooting 38.9 percent from the floor and 25.9 percent from three-point range. Defensively, the Trojans have allowed 82.3 points per contest and its opponents to shoot 44.6 percent from the field and 35.2 percent from behind the arch.
Makayia Hallmon leads four Trojans in double digits with 16.0 points per game and followed by Ja'Mia Hollings, Nia Daniel, and Tai'Sheka Porchia with 13.0, 12.0, and 11.9 points per contest, respectively. Troy's top rebounder is Porchia with 6.9 boards per game with Hollings having grabbed 6.8 rebounds per game.
