Chants look for another solid finish in final match of the fall
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's golf team will be back in action at the Qubein Cup, being played at the Sedgefield Golf Club in Greensboro, N.C. The event is scheduled for Oct. 14-15 on the par-71, 7,131-yard course.
Before rain forced the cancelation of the West Bay Collegiate Invitational, the Chants had a strong fall campaign, finishing fourth at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate to open the season before their top-three finish at the JT Poston Invitational.
There are 13 teams participating in the Qubein Cup with High Point serving as host. Joining High Point and the Chants in the field are Furman, Michigan, UNCW, Virginia Tech, College of Charleston, Chattanooga, Colorado State, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Davidson, and Penn State.
Head coach Jacob Wilner has finalized the CCU participants which includes Drew Sykes, Trey Crenshaw, Owen Kim, Max Bengtsson, and Jack Lee. Trace McDonald will play as an individual in the event.
The two-day event will have 36 holes played on Oct. 14 with the final 18 holes coming on Oct. 15. Teams will have a 9:00 a.m. ET shotgun start in Monday's action and will tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET in Tuesday's final round.
Fans can follow the live scoring at SCOREBOARD.clipped.com, while the final round will be live streamed from the 18th green on Tuesday only. A link to both can be found at www.GoCCUSports.com.
