CONWAY, S.C. – Ricky Liburd has signed to continue his academic and athletic career with the Coastal Carolina University men's basketball program
Ricky Liburd: Hollywood, Fla. (Sagemont Prep)
Liburd brings a winning mentality to the Chanticleers after helping lead Sagemont Prep to a 25-6 record, and the 2024 FHSAA Class 2A State Championship.
Last season Liburd scored 16.3 points per game and also averaged 5.4 rebounds per game. He also chipped in with 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game.
He also played for SOH Elite who placed third at the Under Armour Next AAU Circuit. He averaged 9.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while playing with SOH Elite.
Liburd was named a three-star recruit by 247SPORTS and chose Coastal over Murray State, Cornell, Princeton and others.
Coach Gray on Liburd: "Ricky is a big guard that can defend multiple positions, play above the rim, and can shoot the ball with range. More importantly, he's a Student-Athlete that will represent our program and university well both on and off the court. I am looking forward to watching him chase back-to-back state championships in Florida before his arrival to Teal Nation!"
