ATLANTA ---- Coastal Carolina football earned bowl eligibility with a 48-27 victory over Georgia State on Saturday at Center Parc Stadium. With the win, CCU improved to 6-6 (3-5 Sun Belt) while GSU moved to 3-9 (1-7).
Ethan Vasko tossed three touchdown passes, and added one on the ground, as part of a 13-of-17 passing performance to help the Chants close the regular season with the road victory.
Also, on the offensive side of the ball,
Senika McKie shined with two touchdowns on five receptions for 81 yards.
Christian Washington added 124 rushing yards on 20 carries with a touchdown of his own.
On defense,
Matthew McDoom was a menace from the start with two interceptions and four solo tackles.
Barry Brown added nine tackles, as well.
The Chanticleer defense finished the game with four interceptions, a forced fumble and five sacks.
With the win, Coastal finished the regular season .500 or better on the road for the fifth-straight season.
