CONWAY ----- Coastal Carolina football dropped its season finale in the Myrtle Beach Bowl with a 44-15 loss to UTSA on Monday at Brooks Stadium.
Coastal moved to 6-7 with the outcome while UTSA improved to 7-6.
The Chanticleers posted a shutout in the first quarter before the Roadrunners' depth proved to be too much to overcome. UTSA found success offensively in the second period to take a 21-0 lead into the halftime break.
Making his first collegiate start, quarterback
Tad Hudson tossed his first career touchdown with a 50-yard pass to
Bryson Graves at the 14:52 mark in the fourth quarter to put the Chants on the board and cut the deficit to 27-7.
Hudson's second touchdown pass of the game came at the 4:43 mark in the fourth thanks to a nine-yard pass to
Senika McKie to make it 37-15. He finished the game 17-for-26 through the air for 173 yards and two touchdowns.
Braydon Bennett finished the contest with 22 rushes for 54 yards.
