CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's basketball program will hit the road for the first time in the 2024-25 season on Saturday, Nov. 9, when they travel to Greenville, N.C. to face East Carolina in a 4 p.m. ET tip.
THE SERIES
East Carolina holds a 5-3 lead in the series that started back in 1995. The Chants and Pirates have not met on the hardwood since the 2011 season.
It will be the fifth time the teams have played at East Carolina with ECU winners of the previous four games. The Chants three wins in the series have all been at home.
ABOUT THE CHANTS
CCU opened the season with a 60-56 victory over Western Michigan in the MAC-SBC Challenge.
Rasheed Jones led the Chants in scoring with 15 points, while
Noah Amenhauser hit all four of his field goal attempts on his way to a 10-point scoring output.
A total of 10 players saw action in the opener with nine of them scoring points as the Chants shot 46.8 percent from the field and 30.0 percent on its three-point attempts.
The Chants' defense held the Broncos to a 34.6 percent shooting night, which includes only allowing three of 15 three-point attempts to find the basket.

The Pirates finished the 2023-24 season with a 15-18 overall record and 7-11 in the American Athletic Conference, and opened the
2024-25 season with a strong 97-70 win over North Carolina Wesleyan.
ECU returns seven players from last season including three starters including RJ Felton, the leading scorer after averaging 17.3
points and 6.0 rebounds per game last season. He played and started all 33 games for the Pirates and opened the 24-25 season with
a team-high 22 points against North Carolina Wesleyan.
The other returning starters are senior guard Cam Hayes (7.3 ppg/2.3 rpg) and sophomore center Cyr Malonga (2.1 ppg/2.0 rpg).
