CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's basketball team will travel to Charleston, S.C., on Sunday, Nov. 10, to take on in-state foe the Charleston Southern Buccaneers. The opening tip is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at the Buccaneer Fieldhouse. Fans can catch the action on ESPN+ or HANK 105.5 FM radio.
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
The Chanticleers lead the all-time series 52-26 with the 79th meeting taking place between the two programs on the hardwood on Nov. 10. Coastal has won the last 11 meetings with the Buccaneers, with the last contest taking place on Nov. 22, 2023, a 78-60 Chanticleer win.

Savannah Brooks and
Kristin Williams hit double-digit points, as the duo scored 17 points each to lead the Chants to a 1-0 record to start the season. Brooks was fouled on a layup with 10 seconds left and hit the free throw for an old-fashioned three-point play to provide the final margin.
Coastal saw all 13 players on its roster see action, with Brooks, Williams, and
Jayden Marable getting at least 32 minutes of playing time. Williams and Brooks lead the team in scoring with 17.0 points each, while
Mallory Bruce, Marable, and
Riley Stack totaled 9.0, 6.0, and 6.0 points in the win.
Defensively, the Chanticleers forced 26 Central Michigan turnovers, Brooks tallied four of the CCU takeaways and Bruce had two steals. Despite being outrebounded 45-33, Coastal grabbed 25 boards. Stack grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and blocked three shots, while Williams and Brooks snagged four and three defensive boards, respectively.
ABOUT CHARLESTON SOUTHERN
The Charleston Southern Buccaneers are 0-2, with losses coming from No. 16 UNC (83-53) and ECU (81-56) to begin the season. The Bucs are averaging 54.5 points per game and allowing 82.0 points per contest.
CSU is led by Catherine Alben with 16.0 points per game, while Keshunti Nichols and Tyonna Bailey score 10.5 and 10.0 points per game. Alaina Nettles leads the team with 10 assists, with Alben having helped her teammates four times. The Buccaneers have turned the ball over 47 times as a team.
On the defensive side, Charleston Southern has forced just 25 turnovers in the two games for an average of 12.5 per contest. Shimei Muhammad leads CSU with four steals with Nichols having three swipes. The Buccaneers have grabbed 43 defensive rebounds as Bailey and Nettles have pulled down eight and seven boards, respectively.
