Kunkaew tied for the lead after 36 holes

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team sits in third place at the Sea Best Invitational at 8-over 584 (292-292) after the first two rounds at the San Jose Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla.

Varatkarn Kunkaew not only leads the Chanticleers but is tied for the lead with a three-under 141 (72-69). The freshman finished the second round with three birdies and 15 pars in moving to the top of the leaderboard. She turned in a scorecard that had a total of six birdies and only three bogeys on the day.

Sara Sarrion finished her day tied for 18th shooting a three-over 147 (74-73) over the first two rounds, while Luisa Gibson is tied for 20th with a four-over 148 (73-75).

Hannah Karg is tied for 40th with a seven-over 151 (76-75) and Isabella Spinazze finished tied for 64th with a 14-over 158 (73-85).

Campbell holds the team lead with a one-under 575, being the only team to finish the two rounds under par. Charleston Southern is second just one shot in front of the Chanticleers at seven-over 583. Following the Chanticleers (+8, 584) are High Point and Stetson tied for fourth with a 15-over 591.

USC Upstate held the leader early in the opening round, and will enter Tuesday's final round in sixth place at 17-over 593. Cincinnati is seventh with a 20-over 596 and Florida Gulf Coast is eighth with a 22-over 598. Seminole State is ninth (+25, 601) and Navy (+27, 603) round out the top-10.

The rest of the field includes host Jacksonville (+28, 604), Daytona State College (+33, 609), Houston Christian (+37, 613), Holy Cross (+74, 650), and South Alabama (+87, 663).
