Coastal Travels to Old Dominion for Valentine's Day Battle

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina will hit the road for the first time in the month of February as the Chanticleers travel to Old Dominion to face the Monarchs in a Sun Belt matchup on Valentine's Day. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.


LAST TIME OUT
The Chanticleers fought back from a 10-point second half deficit but could not complete the rally in a 52-49 loss to Texas State on Feb. 7 at the HTC Center. Alancia Ramsey and Riley Stack led Coastal with 11 points each, while Makaila Cange finished with seven points and six rebounds. 
 
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND OLD DOMINION
Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion are meeting for the fourth time. ODU leads the all-time series 2-1 with Coastal earning a 76-68 victory last season on Senior Night in Conway. 

ABOUT COASTAL
The Chanticleers enter Wednesday's game with an 8-17 overall record and a 2-10 mark in Sun Belt play. The Chants lead the Sun Belt Conference and rank ninth nationally with 23.3 free-throw attempts per game. Coastal also ranks among the nation's best in offensive rebounds, grabbing 15.4 offensive boards per game, good for 13th in Division I and third in the SBC. The Chanticleers rank third in the conference with 3.3 blocks per contest.
 
Ramsey is 23rd nationally and second in the league with 3.8 offensive rebounds per game, while Stack leads the conference with 36 total blocks and 1.4 blocks per game. Deaja Richardson leads the Chants in scoring with 14.3 points per contest.
 
ABOUT OLD DOMINION
Old Dominion is 17-6 overall and sits at 8-4 in the league. The Monarchs are one of the stingiest three-point defenses in the Sun Belt, holding opponents to 26.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc. ODU also averages 10.8 steals per game and forces 20.5 turnovers per contest. The Monarchs only shoot 37.3 percent from the field, last in the conference, but limit opponents to a league-best 59.0 points per game.
 
Kaye Clark ranks eighth in the nation in steals with 75 and ninth nationally with 3.3 steals per game, leading the conference in both categories. En'Dya Buford is Old Dominion's top scorer, averaging 11.6 points per game.
