Coastal Hosts JMU for Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Game

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina returns home for the first time in three weeks on Wednesday as the Chants host James Madison for the annual "Coastal for the Cure" game. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear pink for breast cancer awareness.

Coastal Carolina got 45 points from the duo of Makaila Cange and Deaja Richardson as the Chanticleers posted their highest-scoring output of the season in Sun Belt play en route to an 87-81 win on Saturday afternoon over Georgia Southern. Cange led the Chanticleers with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Richardson tallied 21 points and four assists. Alancia Ramsey finished with 12 points and Arin Freeman netted 11 points, while Riley Stack recorded five blocks.
 
HISTORY BETWEEN COASTAL AND JAMES MADISON
Coastal Carolina and James Madison are meeting for the fifth time. James Madison leads the overall series 3-1, with the Dukes winning the last meeting on Feb. 17, 2024.

ABOUT COASTAL
The Chanticleers enter Wednesday's game with an 10-19 overall record and a 4-12 record in Sun Belt play. The Chants rank 10th nationally and lead the Sun Belt Conference with 23.0 free-throw attempts per game. Coastal also averages 14.8 made free throws and 3.8 blocks per game, ranking second in the conference in both categories. The Chanticleers are averaging 14.3 offensive rebounds per contest.
 
Stack leads the league with 55 total blocks and 1.9 blocks per game, ranking 24th nationally in total blocks. Cange ranks second in the Sun Belt with 235 rebounds this season and averages 12.9 points per game.
 
ABOUT JAMES MADISON
James Madison is 19-10 overall and owns an 11-5 record in league play. The Dukes are one of best rebounding teams in the nation, ranking third nationally in defensive rebounds per game and sixth in rebounding margin, leading the Sun Belt in both categories. JMU's 27.6 bench points per game lead the conference and are good for 11th nationally. The Dukes rank last in the Sun Belt with just 12.4 turnovers forced per game.
 
Kseniia Kozlova ranks ninth in the nation in field goal percentage, leading the league at 61.9 percent shooting. Peyton McDaniel is JMU's leading scorer, averaging 14.4 points per contest.
