CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's basketball program will again take to the road for its third consecutive road game when they play at ULM, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. ET, at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, La.
LAST TIME OUT
The Chants fell at Marshall 91-74 as
Jacob Meyer had a career-high 22 points and
John Ojiako finished the game with his 13th double-double of the season with 20 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
Kevin Easley finished the game with 10 point as the Chants shot 45.3 percent from the field.
THE SERIES
vs. ULM
These programs have met 10 times on the hardcourt with the Chanticleers holding a 7-3 lead in the series.
The series started back in 1992 with a Chants 77-68 win in Honolulu, Hawaii at the Hawaii Pre-Holiday Tournament. The two teams did not play again for 22 years when in 2014 CCU won a 61-48 defensive battle at the 2014 Battle 4 Atlantic Mainland Bracket in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The rest of the games have come since CCU joined the Sun Belt Conference for the 2016-17 season. CCU has won only once in Monroe with ULM defeating CCU 83-70 last season on its home court.
ABOUT THE CHANTS
CCU enters the game with a 6-16 record overall and 3-8 in Sun Belt Conference action.
Meyer has taken over the team-lead in scoring averaging 13.9 points per game, while
John Ojiako is averaging 12.9 points per game and a Sun Belt Conference-best 10.5 rebounds per contest.
Kylan Blackmon has been coming off the bench the past few games and has sparked some offensive point production averaging over 10 points per game in coming off the bench. He is averaging 10.8 points per game and leads the team with 30 steals and 36 three-point field goals.
ABOUT LOUISIANA MONROE
The Warhawks are 7-14 overall and tied with CCU, South Alabama and Texas State for 10th in the Sun Belt with a 3-8 conference record.
ULM is averaging 70.05 points per game with Nik Metskhvarishvili averaging 11.0 points per game. He is the only Warhawk averaging in double figures.
Tyreke Locure is averaging 9.9 points per game and leads the team in assists with 57 and in steals with 37. Tyrese Watson is averaging 9.5 points per game, while Jalen Bolden is chipping in at 8.5 points per game and a team-best 6.1 rebounds per game.
