CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team pushed its winning streak to 11 with a pair of sweeps on day one of the Chanticleer Challenge, beating Catawba and Erskine 5-0 on the CCU Sand Courts. CCU's 11 consecutive wins tie the program record set by the 2019 squad.

Match 1: Coastal Carolina 5, Catawba 0
 
Coastal grabbed the first point of the day when Madie Lichty and Denisse Morgenstern earned a 21-12, 21-19 win on court four. Madison Allred and Raychel Ehlers followed with a 21-10, 21-15 victory, their 10th consecutive win at the No. 5 flight, to put the Chants up 2-0. 

Ellie Hanford and Emma Kunaus clinched the win on court three in dominant fashion, 21-4, 21-10. Julia Blazek and Emma Plutnicki notched a 21-14, 21-8 win at the No. 2 flight and Martine Kragholm and Sarah Riedell closed the match with a 21-9, 21-15 victory on court one.
 
Match 2: Coastal Carolina 5, Erskine 0
 
Coastal struck first quickly as Allred and Ehlers posted their 11th consecutive win with a 21-7, 21-13 victory on court four before Emma Gonzalez and Elena Sanchez battled to record a 21-18, 20-22, 15-9 victory at No. 5. 

Blazek and Plutnicki gave the Chanticleers the win with a 21-16, 21-8 result on at the No. 1 flight. Lichty and Morgenstern followed with a 21-11, 21-12 win on court three. Hanford and Kunaus concluded the day with a 21-8, 21-11 victory at the No. 2 flight, giving the Chants their sixth consecutive sweep at home this season, the longest such streak in program history.

The Sandy Chants face Emmanuel at 12:00 p.m. and UNCW at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
