CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University men's basketball team will face Louisiana in the second round of the 2024 Hercules Tires Sun Belt Conference Championship on Thursday, March 7, at 3 p.m. ET, at the Pensacola Bay Center in Pensacola, Fla.

CCU defeated ULM 75-71 in the first round of the 2024 Hercules Tires Sun Belt Conference Championship. Freshman
Jacob Meyer set a new CCU Sun Belt Conference Championship scoring standard with a team, game and career-high 32 points.
Meyer was the only Chanticleer to reach double-digits in scoring, but CCU shot 52.8 percent from the field and a season-high 62.5 percent on its three-point field goals making 10 of its 16 attempts.
THE SERIES
vs. Louisiana
CCU and Louisiana have met nine times on the court with the Ragin' Cajuns holding a 7-2 lead in the series. Louisiana defeated CCU 85-77 in Lafayette back on Jan. 6.
This series has seen its share of close games with six games have been settled by three possessions or less, including four games by four or less.
ABOUT THE CHANTS
Meyer completed the season as the Chants' leading scorer at 15.5 points per game, while
John Ojiako is averaging 12.6 points per game and
Kylan Blackmon is at 11.2 points per game.
Ojiako, and All-Sun Belt honoree, leads the conference with 17 double-doubles, while also leading the conference in field goal percentage (63.7), rebounds (312), rebounds per game (10.8), and in defensive rebounds per game (7.28).
ABOUT LOUISIANA
The Ragin' Cajuns are the fifth-seeded team in the Sun Belt Championship and received a first-round bye in the championship. They finished the season with an 18-13 overall record and 10-8 in Sun Belt Conference action. They enter the post-season having lost four of its last five games of the regular season.
Kobe Julien scored his 1,000th career point with a 28-point performance earlier in the season against Georgia State and was the 51st player in the program to reach the milestone.
Longtime head coach Bob Marlin won the 600th game of his career on Nov. 27 against Loyola (La.), right after winning his 250th game at Louisiana against Buffalo.
