CONWAY, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team (8-11, 2-4 SBC) will close out the 2024 regular season schedule this weekend on the road against the South Alabama Jaguars (8-10, 3-4 SBC) and the Troy Trojans (18-6, 3-4 SBC) in a Sun Belt double feature.
CCU is coming off a 6-1 win over Mount Olive in a senior day win over the Trojans in the final match at the Stevens Tennis Complex this season. The Chants have won three of their last five heading into the final week of the season, with the Sun Belt Conference Tournament set to open next week in Rome, Ga on Apr. 17.
South Alabama enters the weekend at 8-10 on the season and 3-4 in conference play. Their recent string of results includes a weekend double feature in Georgia in a 4-2 loss to Georgia State and a 4-1 win over Georgia Southern, handing the Eagles their first conference loss of the season.
Troy welcomes Coastal on Sunday with the best overall record in the conference this season at 18-6, but with just a 3-4 record against Sun Belt opponents. The Trojans have lost two in a row in a pair of 4-2 losses to Georgia Southern and Georgia State last weekend, dropping them to fifth place in the conference standings.
CCU vs. South Alabama will start at 11 A.M. ET at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts on Saturday, followed by CCU vs. Troy on Sunday at 2 P.M. ET at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
