Men's Golf Tied for Seventh after Second Round of Sun Belt Championship

Chants only two strokes out of fourth place
MADISON, Miss. – The Coastal Carolina University's men's golf team is tied for seventh after shooting a two-over 290 in the second round of the Sun Belt Conference Championship, Tuesday, at the Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss. The Chants moved up two spots after Tuesday's round, and are now only two shots out of one of the top four spots with a 17-over 593 (303-290).
Jack Lee is the team leader after two rounds with a three-over 147 (73-74). He had six birdies on the day, but had two double-bogeys, including one on his final hole of the round. He will enter the third round tied for 12th. He is tied for fourth in par 3 scoring with his 3.00 scoring average and his nine total birdies over the first two rounds is tied for third.
Seth Taylor had a round which saw him record four birdies and five bogeys to finish his round with a 73. He now stands tied for 19th with a four-over 148 (75-73). He is second on the team with eight birdies and that number is tied for eighth in the tournament.
Trace McDonald had the low-round of the day for the Chants, carding a one-under 71. He was two-under on his first nine holes and topped his round off with a birdie on his final hole of the day. He stands tied for 32nd entering Wednesday's action with a six-over 150 (79-71). McDonald is tied for fourth in par 3 scoring with a 3.00 scoring average.
Trey Crenshaw carded a four-over 76 in Tuesday's round and sits tied for 40th with an eight-over 150. Owen Kim moved into the lineup for Tuesday's action and carded the second-best round of the day for CCU with an even-par 72 (36-36).
The field remains crowded after two rounds of action, as each team continues to play for one of the top four spots to make it into match play scheduled for Thursday.
Arkansas State continues to stand alone at the top of the leaderboard with a seven-under 569 (288-281) and ULM moved into second place with a 10-over 586 (299-287). Marshall is third with a 13-over 589 (299-290), while Southern Miss (301-290) and Troy (297-294) are tied for fourth at 15-over 591.
Texas State is sixth with a 16-over 592 (303-289), while CCU (+17, 593) is tied for seventh with Louisiana (+17, 593). James Madison (+20, 596) and Georgia Southern (+21, 597) round out the top 10.
The rest of the field has South Alabama 11th at +23 599, while Appalachian State (+28, 604) and Old Dominion (+28, 604) are tied for 12th, with Georgia State (+38, 614) completing the field.
