Battle Signs with CCU Men's Basketball

Junior has two years of eligibility remaining

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina University head men's basketball coach Justin Gray has announced Jordan Battle has signed with the Chanticleers.

Battle transfers to CCU from Salt Lake Community College where he averaged 13.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. An outstanding shooter, he shot 50.3 percent from the field, 45.2 percent from beyond the three-point line and 81.0 percent at the free throw line.
 
The 6'-3" guard also led the team in assists with 139 and in steals with 49.
 
Battle spent two seasons at Utah Valley University, picking up a redshirt season in one of those years.
 
Before going to Utah Valley, he spent one season at Hargrave Military Academy where he averaged 15.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game.
 
Battle graduated from Norfolk Collegiate where he averaged 24.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 2.9 steals per game during his senior season. He scored over 2,800 points at Norfolk and broke the school's single season points record with 998 during the 2019-20 season. He earned first team all-state and Tidewater Conference Player of the Year honors.
 
Coach Gray on Battle: "I am excited to welcome Jordan to Teal nation. He was highly recruited coming off a great year at SLCC. His ability to shoot the ball will make him a tough guard every night. More importantly, he's a great young man that will represent our Coastal EDGE!"
