Sarrion and Karg pick up wins

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team finished fell to Princeton 3-2 on the final day of the Wolfpack Match Play Intercollegiate, held at the Lonnie Poole Golf Club in Raleigh, N.C.

Sara Sarrion, who trailed after the first six holes of the day, rebounded nicely to pull away for a 3&1 win. Hannah Karg led 14 of the 18 holes, but had to par her final hole two win a 1 up decision.

Luisa Gibson lost her match 2&1, while Varatkarn Kunkaew lost 4&2 and Carolina Hortian fell 6&5 in her match.

Karg finished tied for fifth with her 3.20 scoring average on par 3s and led the par 4 scoring with a 4.25 scoring average. She was also tied for 10th in par 5 scoring with a 5.07 scoring average and her 34 pars were tied for fourth.

Gibson was third in par 3 scoring with a 3.00 scoring average had the lone eagle of the event.

CCU has now completed the regular season and will now set its sites on the 2024 Sun Belt Conference Championship scheduled for April 15-18 at the Lakewood Club in Point Clear, Ala. The championship will be carried live on ESPN+.
