CONWAY, S.C. – Grad student Madison Allred and junior Raychel Ehlers from the Coastal Carolina beach volleyball team were distinguished with an AVCA Top Flight Award on Thursday for their excellence at flight five during the 2024 season.
Â
The duo finished the season 19-3 overall on court five, winning their first 14 contest at the flight en route to setting a program record with 16 consecutive wins as a pair.Â
Â
Allred and Ehlers defeated both No. 20 South Carolina and No. 15 Georgia State on court five while dropping two of their three losses at the flight to nationally-ranked opponents.Â
Â
The two went undefeated in the Sun Belt Beach Volleyball Championship to help the Chanticleers make their second consecutive appearance in the championship match and earn All-Tournament honors.Â
Â
Allred and Ehlers are the first duo in history to earn AVCA Top Flight honors multiple times. The pair earned recognition last season at the No. 4 flight.Â
