EUGENE, Ore. – Coastal Carolina track & field's
Melissa Jefferson raced to a first-place finish with a time of 10.91 in her women's 100-meters preliminaries heat on Friday night to advance to the semifinals at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Oregon.
Jefferson turned in the second-fastest time on the night at 10.91 and was just three-tenths of a second behind Sha'Carri Richardson's time of 10.88. Jefferson won her heat by 0.12 seconds, besting Jenna Prandini (11.03 and Twanisha Terry (11.07).
The semifinals for the women's 100-meters are scheduled to begin at 8:58 p.m. ET tomorrow (Saturday, June 22) with the finals set for 10:50 p.m. ET.
