CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina head volleyball coach
Steve Loeswick announced the addition of
Jordan Yantin to the coaching staff on Tuesday.
Yantin spent the 2023 season as an assistant coach at Ramapo College, where he helped guide the Roadrunners to their first-ever New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) championship and a program best 25-2 record. Yantin coached four players to the NJAC team and included one honorable mention all-American.
In 2021-22, Yantin was an assistant coach for the Bloomfield College women's volleyball team, helping guide the Bears to back-to-back North Division titles while making the finals in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) tournaments in both years. He had three players named to the CACC team and the All-CACC tournament team.
In his first season as the leader of the junior college team in Jacksonville, his squad posted a 16-9 overall record and finished in first place in the Panhandle Conference with a record of 7-1. Yantin's team won the 2017 Panhandle Conference Championship and made its first appearance in the FCSAA Region VIII Tournament since 2010. He was named Panhandle Conference Coach of the Year and he coached the conference Player of the Year, an All-American, an All-Region player, and seven all-conference players.
In 2018, Yantin's Florida State College at Jacksonville team enjoyed more success under his guidance, defeating two-time reigning national champion and No. 1-ranked Miami Dade College in the FCSAA Region VIII Tournament. The team also knocked off the No. 2 and No. 10-nationally ranked teams in the tournament, which had never been accomplished by the school, en route to a third-place finish, the program's first since 2003. After no appearances in the Region Tournament since 2010, Yantin led the program into back-to-back regional appearances in his first two seasons. Yantin and his team also finished the season ranked in the top-20 nationally, another feat that had not been achieved by the team in over a decade. His 2018 squad produced the conference Player of the Year, an All-American, two all-region players, and five all-conference players.
Prior to Florida State College at Jacksonville, Yantin served as a coach for the Jacksonville Juniors Volleyball Club and the beach and indoor volleyball coach with the Vaqueros Volleyball Club in Puerto Rico, winning two Junior Nationals Open Championships in the U.S. while serving as the Athletic Director and Volleyball Coach at Jardin de la Merced School in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Prior to that, he served as the Head Coach for the American University of Bayamon in Puerto Rico from 2011-2013 and the Assistant Men's Coach at Metropolitan College (UMET) in 2015. Yantin also served as a Physical Education teacher and both the male and female head coach for Beach and Indoor Volleyball at Carmen Sol School in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico (2008-2014).
In 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, Yantin was the Junior Beach Volleyball Champion and MVP for Puerto Rico. He and his partner won the 2006 AAU Beach Volleyball Gold Championship, the first pair from Puerto Rico to ever win the tournament. In 2008, 2009 and 2010, Jordan and his partner were crowned as Beach Volleyball Champions in Puerto Rico.
