Chants face challenging field to begin the 2024-25 season
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team will open the 2024-25 season at the Cardinal Cup on Sept. 13-15 at the University of Louisville Golf Club in Simpsonville, Ky.
The Chants will face a highly competitive 15-team field, which features host Louisville, CCU, Bellarmine, Cincinnati, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Lipscomb, Mercer, Middle Tennessee, Rutgers, Toledo, and Western Kentucky. The field also includes fellow Sun Belt Conference members James Madison and Marshall.
To open the season, head coach Katie Quinney has set a lineup that includes returners Sara Sarrion, Varatkarn Kunkaew, and Carolina Hortian. Freshman newcomers Aoife Devaney and Ella Murray will make their CCU debuts in the season-opening tournament for the Chanticleers.
The three-day, 54-hole event is scheduled for the teams to tee off on holes one and 10 at 9:00 a.m. ET on Friday and Saturday, and a 9:00 a.m. shotgun start on Sunday. The event will consist of 18 holes of action each day.
