Chants look to build on solid performance in season-opener
CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's golf team, coming off a fourth-place finish, at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate, will jump back into action at the JT Poston Invitational scheduled for Sept. 13-15 at the Waynesville Inn and Golf Club in Waynesville, N.C.
Western Carolina will serve as host of the Invitational and will be joined by 13 teams on the par 70, 6,720-yard course.
Joining the Catamounts and Chanticleers in the three-day event will be Charleston Southern, Drexel, Eastern Kentucky, Francis Marion, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Mercer, UT-Rio Grand Valley, Wofford, and Xavier. The event will also host Sun Belt Conference members James Madison, Georgia Southern, and Georgia State.
Head coach Jacob Wilner will have three players who had top-10 finishes at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate in the lineup including Owen Kim (5th), Trey Crenshaw (t-6th), and Max Bengtsson (8th). The lineup will also feature Drew Sykes and Jack Lee. Coleman Ferguson will compete in the Invite as an individual.
The event will take place over three days, with 18 holes being played each day. Teams will tee off at 9 a.m. ET on holes one and 10 both Sunday and Monday, with Tuesday's final round featuring a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. ET.
