GREENSBORO, N.C. –  The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team went 11-5 on day two and posted a 15-8 overall record at the UNCG Hidden Duals in Greensboro, N.C.

The Chants topped the James Madison Dukes 5-3 in singles play, highlighted by straight sets victories by Juan Cruz Collardin and Curzio Manucci.

Five of the eight singles matches went to three sets with CCU's Jack Dixon, Emiliano Gonzalez Balmaceda, and Christopher Norlin coming out on top. At the same time, Eric Tripathi and Iannis Fernandes fell just short at 10-9 and 10-5, respectively, in their third set tiebreakers.

The Chants then went on to win 6-2 versus the Davidson Wildcats on Saturday afternoon.

Despite losing at the No. 3 and 8 flights, the Chants took each of the next six bouts. Tripathi, Manucci, and Balmaceda were all victorious in straight sets on courts No. 1, 5, and 6, while Cruz Collardin, Fernandes, and Norlin went the distance and won in three sets.

"The thing that really impressed about the weekend, especially Saturday, was the way that we competed," stated head coach Chris Powers. "The energy, intensity, and team support was solid and this performance is something to build off for the remainder of the fall season".

Day three of the UNCG Hidden Duals was scheduled for 9 a.m. ET on Sept. 15, but was cancelled due to inclement weather.

The Chants will be back in action on Sept. 27-29 to host the Coastal Carolina Battle at the Beach Weekend at the Stevens Tennis Complex in Conway, S.C.
