ASHEBORO, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina University women's golf team moved up one spot to finish third at the Tot Hill Farm Invitational with a 25-over 889 (297-296-296) at the Tot Hill Farm Golf Club in Asheboro, N.C.
Senior
Sara Sarrion had the best round of the day for CCU, shooting a one-under 71 in Tuesday's final round and moving up five spots to finish the Invite tied for third with a one-over 217 (72-74-71). Freshman teammate
Aoife Devaney also finished tied for third with a one-over 217 (71-74-72).
Ella Murray picked up a top-20 finish with a nine-over 225 (76-72-77) and finished tied for 18th, while
Varatkarn Kunkaew finished tied for 27th after carding a 14-over 230 (77-77-76).
Carolina Hortian finished tied for 42nd with a 22-over 238 (78-80-80), and
Kylie Bowes finished her tournament playing as an individual tied for 52nd with a 28-over 244 (81-85-78).
Host College of Charleston led from start to finish in winning its own tournament at three-over 867, followed by East Carolina with a 13-over 877. Elon after carding at 36-over 900 to finish behind the Chants in fourth and Gardner-Webb finished fifth with a 41-over 905.
Marshall was sixth (+59, 919) and Western Carolina was seventh (+61, 925). Rounding out the field was Queens-Charlotte (+65, 929), and Appalachian State (+65, 929) tied for eighth, with USC Upstate 10th (+80 944), and Presbyterian (+97, 961).
CCU will continue its fall schedule at the annual Evie Odom Invitational scheduled for Oct. 4-6 at the Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va.
