CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina University launched Teal Impact, a holistic model student-athlete development and engagement program, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics and University Recreation Chance Miller announced.
 
This program is dedicated to fostering the holistic development of student-athletes through the its five core pillars:

• Career Development
• Community Engagement
• Leadership
• Personal Growth 
• Advocacy

Teal Impact will be housed inside a new student-athlete development and engagement department and overseen by Associate AD for Student-Athlete Enhancement/SWA Cari Rosiek and Associate AD for Student-Athlete Development & Engagement Alise Svihla.
 
"We are excited to announce the creation of the Student-Athlete Development and Engagement Department," Miller said. "This new department will provide innovative programming and resources through our Teal Impact initiatives, enhancing the overall experience and well-being of our student-athletes and preparing them for their time at CCU and beyond. I want to thank Cari Rosiek and Alise Svihla for their passion and dedication in starting this department and creating programming to provide a holistic experience for our student-athletes. We look forward to incorporating our alumni, letterwinners, donors, fans, local businesses and the community into our initiatives and programming to make a lasting impact."
 
Through intentional, innovative programs and individualized support, Teal Impact aims to inspire student-athletes to excel as leaders, professionals, and engaged citizens beyond graduation. The program and department overall are committed to shaping the future of Chanticleer Student-Athlete success.
 
Programming will focus on a number of topics, including but not limited to transitional skills, economic literacy, achievement and brandings, leadership, internships and career planning, mentoring and networking, personal growth, academic success, community engagement and teal spirit.
