STATESBORO, Ga. ---- Coastal Carolina men's basketball dropped an 85-58 game to Georgia Southern on Thursday afternoon inside the Hill Convocation Center. The Eagles jumped out to a 37-24 lead at halftime and didn't relent in the second 20 minutes of action to secure the victory.
With the result, Georgia Southern improved to 11-9 (4-4 Sun Belt Conference) while Coastal moved to 8-12 (1-7).
The trio of
Joshua Meo,
Rasheed Jones and
Jordan Battle led the way for CCU on the offensive side with a combined 37 points and 10 rebounds.
Georgia Southern's depth played a key role in the contest as the Eagles' bench outscored Coastal's 43-22.
The Chanticleers return to action Saturday, Jan. 25, against ODU. Tip in Norfolk is set for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+. CCU heads to Virginia in search of its second win in its past three visits to Old Dominion.
