NORFOLK, Va. ---- Coastal Carolina men's basketball dropped a 74-52 game to Old Dominion on Saturday night inside Chartway Arena. The Monarchs took a 39-18 lead into the halftime break and didn't look back to secure the victory in front of their home fans.

With the result, ODU improved to 9-12 (5-4 Sun Belt Conference) while Coastal moved to 8-13 (1-8).

Jordan Battle, a Chesapeake native, showed out in front of his family and friends in attendance just 14 minutes down the road from his hometown. He finished the game with a team-best 15 points, eight of which came in the first half. Battle has now scored 10 or more points in five of his past six contests dating back to Jan. 8.

Denzel Hines led the way on the boards with 11 rebounds.

Bench points proved to be the key difference on Saturday night as ODU's second unit outscored Coastal's, 47-12. Robert Davis, Jr. paced Old Dominion with 23 points. Fifteen of Davis, Jr.'s points came in the opening 20 minutes of basketball. Â
