CONWAY, S.C. — Another former Coastal Carolina Football standout is headed home to the Surf Turf with
Trey Carter set to join the staff as an offensive analyst Head Coach
Tim Beck announced.
Carter, a native of Monroeville, Alabama, returns to Coastal after two years as an offensive graduate assistant at Liberty. He spent the 2022 season as an offensive GA at Coastal.
When asked about taking the job, Carter simply responded, "This is home."
"Thrilled to welcome home another standout player who helped put the Coastal football program on the map," Beck said. "Trey ended his career here with 61-straight games played, displaying the level of toughness we want throughout our program. Looking forward to seeing his impact on our 2025 team and beyond."
NOTING CARTER'S PLAYING CAREER
- Part of the transition from the FCS level and closed out his career going 22-3 from 2020-21 with two bowl games and a No. 12 final College Football Playoff ranking in 2020.
- Holds the Coastal Carolina record for games played (61) and starts (61), as he made 61-consecutive starts from 2017 through 2021.
- Earned All-Sun Belt Conference honors five times (2022 first team, 2019 & 2021 third team, 2017 & 2018 honorable mention). One of two players in Sun Belt history to achieve that feat.
- Team Captain – 2019-21
- Graduated in August 2019 with a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science.
- Received a master's degree in instructional technology in December 2021.
