CONWAY— Coastal Carolina women's basketball (4-4) collected a convincing victory, winning 103-61 over Jackson State on Friday afternoon at the HTC Center.
GAME RECAP
After Coastal took a slight 19-17 lead after the first quarter, the Chants exploded in the final three periods, outscoring the Tigers 84-55. The Chanticleer bench scored 51 points and the team turned the ball over just nine times while forcing 19, turning those turnovers into 24 points. Coastal shot 55 percent from the field, 44 percent from three and 66 percent from the free-throw line. The Chants also tallied 13 steals in the victory.
COASTAL LEADERS
Freshman
Kinsea Grimes led all scorers with 21 points on 6-10 shooting, while making all three of her three-point attempts and six free-throws.
Kristin Williams poured in 18 points while
Tateyoina Harris (16),
Tessa Grady (11),
Paige Bradley (10) and
Baylee Lowder (10) each posted double-digit scoring performances. Lowder paced the team in rebounds with 11, collecting her first career double-double.
