HATTIESBURG, Ms. ---- Coastal Carolina men's basketball earned an 87-78 victory over Southern Miss on Thursday night. Jordan Battle's 29-point performance, a game best, helped lead the Chants to the road victory inside Reed Green Coliseum.
 
Battle finished the contest 6-of-9 from the arc with three rebounds and three assists. Colin Granger shined in the post with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Joshua Meo added 13 points and eight rebounds.
 
Points in the paint were the key difference in the contest with Coastal winning that battle, 34-22. CCU passed the ball well all night with 17 assists to USM's seven.
 
Coastal Carolina led for all but four minutes in the road contest.
