SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Coastal Carolina powered past Wofford, 20-13, on Sunday afternoon behind a pair of record-setting efforts from
Brigid Cardillo.
Cardillo orchestrated the Chanticleers' offense with a school-record nine assists, consistently setting up scoring opportunities that saw CCU top 20 goals for the first time this season. She added a goal for a 10-point total on the day which tied Coastal Carolina's single-game points record with, matching Kayla Downey's mark set in 2023.
Bates led all scorers with a career-best seven goals and
Sydney McClure also posted a personal best with five goals.
Alyson Mascolo controlled the midfield with a career-high eight draw controls, helping the Chanticleers dominate possession.
Coastal (3-2) led 10-6 at the break, but Wofford worked the count down to two at 14-12 with 13:22 left in the game. The Chants answered with five-straight goals from four different players over the next 4:33 to put the game out of reach.
