CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team dropped its Sun Belt Conference opener to South Alabama, falling 4-1 on Friday afternoon at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
- The Chanticleers secured the first doubles match on court No. 2, but the Jaguars responded with wins on Courts 1 and 3 to clinch the doubles point.
- South Alabama extended its lead to 2-0 as Harold van Raemdonck defeated reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Curzio Manucci 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot.
- Iannis Fernandes put Coastal on the board with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory at the No. 6 spot, cutting the deficit to 2-1. However, the Jaguars sealed the match with singles wins on courts 5 and 1, securing the 4-1 victory.
- Coastal Carolina will return to action on March 16, facing Troy at 9:15 a.m.
