DURHAM, N.C. –The Coastal Carolina track & field team started the Duke Invitational on Thursday from Durham, N.C. The first day included the start of the men's decathlon, women's heptathlon, and men and women's hammer throw.
In the women's hammer throw, senior
Zayna Fray-Samuel finished fifth of 31 with a throw of 56.86 meters.
Sophomore
Josh Roberts competed for the Chants in the decathlon group B, finishing second in the 100-meter dash (10.97), fourth in the long jump (6.28m), and seventh in the shot put (11.82m).
In the women's heptathlon, junior
Mia Lewis finished the day with a seventh place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.17), 11
th in the high jump (1.48m), seventh in shot put (9.79m), and 12
th in the 200-meter dash (27.82) in group B.
The Chants continue the Duke Invitational on Friday with the first events starting at 9:30 a.m.
