CONWAY, S.C. — The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team will face No. 3 seed South Alabama in the opening round of the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on April 18 at the Rome Tennis Center.
The Chanticleers wrapped up the regular season with an 8-11 overall record and a 4-4 mark in Sun Belt play. Coastal was led by Sun Belt Singles Second Team honoree and Newcomer of the Year
Christopher Norlin, who posted a 16-8 overall record, including a 7-7 mark in dual matches.
South Alabama enters the tournament with a 9-11 record and is riding a three-match win streak in conference play after defeating Georgia State, Southern Miss, and Louisiana to close out the regular season. The Jaguars are led by First-Team Sun Belt selection Javier Montoya, who posted an 8-6 record at the No. 1 singles spot.
In their most recent matchup on April 16, the Jaguars defeated Coastal Carolina 4-1 at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
Iannis Fernandes recorded the Chanticleers' lone point with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over Adam Bouyacoub at the No. 6 singles position.
Coastal is looking for its first-ever win over South Alabama, which leads the all-time series 6-0.
