MADISON, Miss. – The Coastal Carolina men's golf team stands alone in second place following the conclusion of the first two rounds of play at the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championship. The Chanticleers carded a 3-under par 285 for the second straight day and are 6-under 570 overall.
Arkansas State leads the field at 10-under par 566 followed by the Chanticleers with Georgia Southern in third place (-4) and Louisiana and Troy tied for fourth at 1-over.
The top four teams from the 54-hole stroke play portion of the event will advance to match play on Thursday, April 24, with the No. 4 seed and the No. 1 seed on No. 1 and the No. 3 seed and the No. 2 seed on No. 10. The championship match will tee off from No. 1 following the conclusion of the semifinal matches.
Freshman
Drew Sykes shot 1-over 73 on Tuesday, but still leads the Chanticleers at 2-under and sits tied for eighth.
Max Bengtsson and
Jack Lee are each 1-under and tied for 12th while
Trace McDonald is tied for 22nd at 1-over with
Trey Crenshaw tied for 30th at 2-over.
Lee posted the Chanticleers' best round of the day with a 2-under 70 that included an eagle on No. 5. Bengtsson and Crenshaw each carded a 1-under 71 in round two.
The tournament resumes Wednesday with the final round of stroke play.
