Women’s Tennis Heads to 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament

CONWAY, S.C. — The 10th-seeded Coastal Carolina women's tennis team is set to face No. 7 seed Troy in the opening round of the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Tournament on April 24. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET in Rome, Ga.
The Chanticleers wrapped up the regular season with a 10-10 overall record and went 4-6 in conference play. Freshman Brunelle Kouam led the squad with a 13-3 singles mark, while senior Anna Babayan went 11-2 in the No. 1 singles position.
Troy enters the tournament at 11-9 overall and 6-5 in Sun Belt action. The Trojans are led by Valeriia Avdeeva, who boasts a 15-2 singles record, along with the doubles team of Avdeeva and Maria Guirguis, who posted a 10-5 mark in the No. 1 spot.
The teams last met on March 28, when Coastal fell 4-2 at the Stevens Tennis Complex. The Chants secured the doubles point with wins on courts one and three, while Babayan earned the team's lone singles victory on court one.
