ESTERO, Fla. – The Coastal Carolina men's golf team concluded play at the Old Corkscrew Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon, wrapping up its regular season with a seventh-place finish with a final team tally of 34-over 898.
Trey Crenshaw was the Chanticleers' top finisher, tying for fifth with an even-par 216 at the Old Corkscrew Golf Course.
The Chants posted the second-lowest third round score among the 10-team field, shooting 4-over 292 to close out the event after recording a 302 in round one and 304 in round two. CCU's lineup combined to make 158 pars, third-most in the field.
Florida Atlantic won the tournament by three strokes at 4-over 868, besting host Florida Gulf Coast.
Playing as an individual, Crenshaw opened the tournament with a 72 and shot a 70 in round two to enter the final day in a three-way tie for third place. With a two-over 74 in the final round, Crenshaw secured his first top 5 finish of the season.
FGCU's Nolan Harper took medalist honors with a 7-under 209, winning by four strokes over FAU's NaShawn Tyson.
Drew Sykes carded a four-over 220 to tie for 14th as the top finisher in the Chants' lineup. After shooting a combined 9-over in the first two rounds Monday, Sykes fired a 5-under 67 in round three, matching his lowest round of the season.
Trace McDonald carded an 8-over 224 to finish tied for 23rd, carding rounds of 76 and 77 on Monday before wrapping up the tournament with a 1-under 71.
Jack Lee opened the event with a 71 but registered a 79 and 76 in the final two rounds to finish with a score of 10-over 226.
Owen Kim tied for 43rd at 15-over 231 and
Max Bengtsson finished 49th at 19-over 235.
The Chants will return to the links April 21-24 at the 2025 Sun Belt Conference Championships being held at the Annadale Golf Club in Madison, Miss.
