TEMPE, Ariz. – All eight members of the Coastal Carolina men's tennis team were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes, it was announced on Monday.
The Chanticleers posted a 3.745 cumulative GPA for the 2024–25 academic year, the highest among all men's sports at Coastal Carolina. That academic performance also earned the team ITA All-Academic Team honors, joining 159 other men's tennis programs across the nation.
To qualify as an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must earn a GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the academic year.
This year's recognition marks the third consecutive ITA Scholar-Athlete honor for
Rivers Cahill and
Eric Tripathi, the second for
Jack Dixon and
Iannis Fernandes, and the first for
Curzio Manucci,
Juan Cruz Collardin,
Christopher Norlin, and
Emiliano Gonzalez Balmaceda.
"It makes me incredibly proud as a coach to see our guys succeed on and off the court," said head coach
Chris Powers. "I know how hard our players work in the classroom, and it's a testament to the program that our academic standards have been so consistently strong for such a long time. Hats off to this group for continuing that legacy as student-athletes."
