CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to the Belmont Bruins on Sunday afternoon at the CCU Soccer Complex.

With the loss, the Chants fall to 1-2-1 on the season.
Belmont struck first in the 9th minute when Kaitlyn Elliot lobbed a ball over goalkeeper Aris Lamanna's head off an assist from Megan Miller to make it 1-0.
Coastal trailed 5-1 in shots and 2-1 in corner kicks at the break.
Sophomore defender Silje Nilsen recorded the Chants' lone shot of the first half.
The Chants dominated the second half, outshooting Belmont 12-1, but couldn't find the equalizer.
Dolcie O'Connor led the attack with four shots in the match.

The Chanticleers will hit the road to face Louisville on Aug. 31. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
