Stone Joins Beach Volleyball Staff

CONWAY - Shannon Stone has been named the assistant coach for Coastal Beach volleyball, head coach Collin Wilson announced on Tuesday, August 26.

Stone joins Coastal after two successful seasons at the University of Tampa, where she helped guide the Spartans to back-to-back AVCA Small College National Championships and capture the program's first-ever Sunshine State Conference Tournament title.

"We are thrilled to welcome Shannon to Coastal Carolina," Wilson said. "She brings incredible energy that will fuel our program and strengthen our winning culture."

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Stone coached high school beach volleyball at Cambridge Christian in 2024 and previously spent a summer at IMG Academy, where she was part of launching the school's first-ever volleyball program.

A Colorado native, Stone was a standout collegiate athlete at Eastern Kentucky University, where she competed at the Division I level and earned her bachelor's degree in Public Relations. Her passion for the sport and commitment to athlete development have fueled her rapid rise in the coaching ranks.

At Tampa, Stone played a pivotal role in training, game strategy, and fostering a winning culture on and off the sand. She now brings her championship experience, competitive drive, and enthusiasm for building strong team culture to Coastal Carolina, eager to help the Chanticleers continue their growth as a nationally respected program.
