CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team was shut out 2-0 by Presbyterian on Friday night at the CCU Soccer Complex.
- The Chanticleers outshot the Blue Hose 7-4 in the first half.
- Transfer goalkeeper Alec Laible made his first appearance for Coastal between the pipes.
- Presbyterian took the lead in the 45th minute when Aloni Elfu converted a free kick from Steven Cordova to make it 1-0.
- Coastal pressed for the equalizer in the second half, holding a 10-4 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
- Presbyterian added an insurance goal in the 89th minute when Parker Brennan scored off assists from Elfu and Ole Smaaskjaer.
- Laible, Pierson Davis, Nate Kovalcik and Lincoln Ulrich played the full 90 minutes for Coastal.
- The Chanticleers committed a season-high 17 fouls.
Coastal will remain at home to face North Florida on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. ET.
