CONWAY, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team fell 4-1 to the North Florida Ospreys on Friday night at the CCU Soccer Complex.
- With the loss, the Chants drop to 1-3-0 on the season.
- CCU took a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute when Loed Klaasen pressured the North Florida keeper, whose clearance deflected to the foot of Christian Cook, who finished into the bottom right corner.
- North Florida answered in the 43rd minute as Jaxon Reinhardt found the net off assists from Pedro Amancio and Paul Schacherer.
- Coastal trailed 6-2 in shots and 4-3 in corner kicks in the opening half.
- The Ospreys took the lead in the 79th minute on a Coastal own goal to make it 2-1.
- North Florida added two late goals in the 86th and 89th minutes, courtesy of Ricardo Ferreira and Luc Granitur, to seal the 4-1 victory.
- At full time, Coastal was outshot 17-7 but held a 5-2 advantage in saves.
The Chanticleers will hit the road to take on No. 10 Marshall in Huntington, W.Va., on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. ET.
