CONWAY, S.C. — Coastal Carolina continues Sun Belt Conference play on the road this weekend, traveling to Statesboro, Ga., for a match-up at Georgia Southern, looking to extend its winning streak to a season-long three games.
The Eagles are unbeaten in Statesboro this season, 8-0, and have already collected three home wins in league play, defeating Georgia State, James Madison, and Old Dominion. Georgia Southern is coming off an 87-84 win over Old Dominion on Thursday.
The Chanticleers enter the game having won three straight on the road and are 6-6 away from Conway this season, including true road wins at Saint Joseph's, Marshall, Old Dominion, and Winthrop.
Georgia Southern averages 83.8 points per game, second in the Sun Belt, but has struggled to get stops, ranking 13th in the conference in scoring defense at 80.0 points allowed per contest. Coastal owns the fifth-ranked scoring defense in the league, holding opponents to 72.4 points per game.
Spudd Webb leads Georgia Southern at 16.6 points per game, with Tyren Moore (13.4), Alden Applewhite (12.7) and Nakavieon White (10.6) also averaging double figures. Moore ranks fourth in the Sun Belt in both 3-point percentage (.355) and 3-pointers made per game (2.63).

AJ Dancler — each average more than 14 points per game and rank among the top 20 scorers in the conference. Beadle is ninth in the Sun Belt, Jones is 15th and Dancler is 18th. As a unit, the trio leads the league in combined scoring at 44.7 points per game.
The teams last met Jan. 1 at the HTC Center, when Webb made 1 of 2 free throws with two seconds remaining to lift Georgia Southern to an 82-81 overtime win. Beadle scored 21 points for Coastal Carolina, while Dancler and Jones added 18 apiece.
Nadjrick Peat had eight points and a season-high 15 rebounds as the Chanticleers held a 50-41 rebounding edge, including 20 offensive rebounds.
Webb scored 22 points and Moore added 21 for Georgia Southern, which went 24 of 32 from the free-throw line. Coastal Carolina trailed 41-33 at halftime but opened the second half on a 10-2 run to tie the game at 43 while regulation time expired with the game tied at 72.
Coastal Carolina and Georgia Southern have met 10 times in Statesboro, with the Chanticleers owning four road wins in the series. Coastal is 2-5 in conference play on the road against the Eagles and will be looking to end a three-game road losing streak in the series. The Chanticleers' last win in Statesboro came on Jan. 20, 2022, a 76-72 victory at Hanner Fieldhouse.
