Lafayette, La. - Coastal Carolina women's basketball (9-10, 2-5) hits the road to face Louisiana (1-17, 0-8) on Wednesday, Jan. 21 in Lafayette, La. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. ET and will be streamed live on ESPN+ as well as the Chanticleer Sports Network.
ABOUT THE CHANTS
- Despite a 2-5 conference record, Coastal still ranks as the sixth-best Sun Belt team in the NCAA NET rankings at 125.
- The Chanticleers are one of the highest-volume three-point shooting teams in the country, ranking 16th with 9.1 three-pointers per game and 36th with 25.6 three-point attempts per game.
- Coastal grabbed their first home Sun Belt win of the season on Saturday, defeating South Alabama 63-59 at the HTC Center.
- With five seconds remaining and the score tied at 59, D'Yanis Jimenez scored the go-ahead basket with a layup.
- Kristin Williams scored her 1,000th point on a free throw at the end of the game.
- Coastal went 19-56 (34%) from the field and 7-23 (30%) from three-point range, while making 18 of 27 free throws.

- Louisiana holds a 1-17 overall record and is 0-8 in Sun Belt play.

- Coastal will be meeting Louisiana for the 10th time, with the Chants leading the series 6-3.

- In her second season with the Chants, graduate guard Kristin Williams had led the Chants in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game.

- She ransk second the country with 3.2 three-pointers per game and third in overall three-pointers weith 61.
- Williams scored her 1,000th career point against South Alabama on Jan. 17.

- Currently, Coastal ranks 16th in the country with 9.1 made three-pointers per game.
- The Chants are also ranked 36th in the country with 25.6 three-point attempts per contest.
- Both Kristin Williams and Tessa Grady rank in the top-30 in the country for made three-pointers, with Williams in third (61) and Grady tied for 28th (50).
- Williams and Grady rank first and third in the SBC with 3.2 and 2.6 three-pointers per game.
COASTAL CHAOS
- Head Coach Kevin Pederson coined the term "Coastal Chaos" prior to last season due to his philosophy of tough defense and forcing teams to be uncomfortable.
- The stats backed up the chaotic defense, as the Chants led the Sun Belt with 20.3 turnovers forced per game and ranked second in steals per game with 10.88.
- This season, Coastal rank 60th in the country with 19.8 turnovers forced per game, and 120th with a turnover margin of 2.1.
PEDERSON REACHES 500
- Coastal Carolina Head Coach Kevin Pederson won his 500th career game on Dec. 29, 2025 against Columbia College.
- He holds 57 victories at Coastal, the fastest coach in program history to reach that mark.
