MBB Heads To ULM For Sunday Matinee

MONROE, La. — Coastal Carolina looks to return to the win column Sunday afternoon when they travel to face the ULM Warhawks at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET) and the game will be streamed on ESPN+. The contest was originally scheduled for Saturday but postponed due to the impact of Winter Storm Fern in northeastern Louisiana.

Coastal Carolina enters the match-up at 13-10 overall and 6-5 in Sun Belt Conference play after seeing its five-game winning streak snapped Thursday night with a 53-48 loss at South Alabama. The Chanticleers led 24-15 at halftime before being outscored 38-24 in the second half.

Joshua Beadle led Coastal with 11 points against the Jaguars, while AJ Dancler added 10 points on three 3-pointers. Rasheed Jones chipped in nine points and a team-high five assists, and Reggie Hill posted nine points and eight rebounds.

ULM comes into Sunday's game with a 3-19 overall record and is still searching for its first Sun Belt victory at 0-10. The Warhawks have dropped 12 consecutive games, most recently a 79-76 loss to Georgia Southern on Friday afternoon. All three of ULM's wins this season have come at home.

The Warhawks rank near the bottom of the league in several statistical categories, including scoring offense (62.1 ppg), scoring defense (82.8), field goal percentage (.387) and field goal percentage defense (.478). ULM is also being out-rebounded by more than eight rebounds per game.

Krystian Lewis leads the Warhawks and ranks fifth in the Sun Belt at 16.4 points per game. MJ Russell (15.8 ppg), Lavell Brodnex (13.3) and Renars Sondors (11.0) also average double figures. Brodnex leads the team on the glass at 6.9 rebounds per game, while Russell averages 1.4 blocks.

Coastal Carolina leads the all-time series 9-4 but is just 1-3 against ULM in games played in Monroe. The Chanticleers are 6-3 against the Warhawks in Sun Belt regular-season meetings and 1-1 in the conference tournament.

The Chanticleers won the most recent meeting between the two teams, pulling away for a 70-51 victory on Jan. 4 at the HTC Center in Conway, S.C. Noah Amenhauser and Jones combined for 25 points as Coastal built a 23-point second-half lead and controlled the boards, 43-26.
