STATESBORO, GA. — Coastal Carolina women's basketball dropped their game to Georgia Southern 67-56 on Saturday afternoon in Statesboro, Ga.

The Chanticleers left the first quarter with a 18-17 lead after a three-pointer by
Tessa Grady inside one minute left. Defense dominated the second period as Georgia Southern grabbed the lead late to take a 30-29 advantage into halftime. The Chants were held to just nine third quarter points as the Eagles extended their lead to to 15. Coastal cut the lead down to six in the fourth but wouldn't get closer as Georgia Southern secured the 67-56 win.
COASTAL LEADERS
Tessa Grady led the Chants in scoring for the sixth game in a row with 14.
Kristin Williams provided 12 more points in the loss. As a team, Coastal shot 32-percent from the field and 41-percent from long-range while making 13 of 17 free throw attempts.
