CLEMSON, S.C. - The Coastal Carolina softball team secured a 10-2 run-rule victory over Lipscomb on the final day of the Clemson Classic.
Lipscomb came out of the gates early, taking a 2-0 lead on a CCU throwing error and a sacrifice fly.
The Chants immediately bounced back, putting together a three-home-run inning, with
Brie Normandin,
Izzy Ramirez, and
Libby Pippin all going yard to put Coastal up 4-2.
CCU's bats continued to stay hot in the bottom of the third inning, bringing home six runs in the frame courtesy of a pair of RBI doubles from Ramirez and
Georgia Hood, along with
Livi Payne's two-run single and a groundout to claim the 10-2 victory.
Abby Henderson improved to 4-4 in the circle, allowing just two runs across 5.0 innings of work.
The Chants will return home for the Beach Chicken Brawl, where they will host FAU, Binghamton, and Saint Joseph's for the three-day tournament.
