CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina graduate
Joshua Beadle was named to the NABC Division I South Atlantic All-District Second Team, the organization announced Tuesday. The honor is voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
He is the seventh Chanticleer to receive the distinction since Coastal Carolina joined the Sun Belt Conference and the first since the NABC introduced a new model for its Division I district alignment last season, with schools arranged by state rather than by conference. The South Atlantic District includes Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
Beadle, who led the Chanticleers in scoring at 17.5 points per game, ranked second in the Sun Belt in field goal attempts (466), third in field goals made (200), fifth in scoring (17.5), ninth in free throws made (129) and 10th in free throw attempts (172).
He scored in double figures in 26 games and recorded 13 20-point performances, including two 30-point outings. He set career highs in every statistical category and scored 568 points in 32 games after totaling 365 points across 96 career games entering the season.
Beadle was voted Sun Belt Conference Newcomer of the Year and earned first-team all-conference honors.
Coastal Carolina finished the regular season 19-13 overall and tied for second place in the Sun Belt with an 11-7 conference record. It was the Chanticleers' highest SBC finish since joining the league 10 years ago and their most wins in four years.
