CONWAY, S.C. — The Coastal Carolina softball team run-ruled the Charleston Southern Buccaneers 11-3 on Tuesday afternoon at St. John Stadium.
 
The Chants came out hot in the bottom of the first inning when Kaelin Cash and Izzy Ramirez smashed back-to-back home runs to give Coastal a 4-0 lead.
 
History repeated itself in the bottom of the second inning but this time the back-to-back home runs came from Georgia Hood and Cash to extend Coastal's advantage to 7-0.
 
In the top of the fourth inning, the Buccaneers capitalized on a pair of CCU fielding errors and a one-run single from Lorenzza Marcacci to narrow the gap to 7-3.
 
Coastal added an insurance run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Delaney Keith ripped a leadoff double and was later brought home on a double steal to make the score 8-3.
 
The runs kept coming for the Chants in the bottom of the fifth frame, when Keith, Hood, and Cash recorded three consecutive RBI's to secure the 11-3 run-rule win.

Abby Henderson improve to 7-9 in the circle, allowing just two hits while refusing to give up a single run in her 3.0 innings of work.
